From Idea to Code
The mechanics of the promotion were as follows:
- Buy the product in special promotional packaging.
- Register your receipt on the website.
- Play the games.
- Get points.
- Participate in the prize draw.
Six different game mechanics were added to the website:
- Battleship — for strategists.
- Fruit Ninja — for virtual blade masters.
- Matchstick puzzles — for those who like to train their brain.
- Quiz — for the erudite and knowledgeable.
- Hidden object search — for the most attentive.
- Detective puzzles — for those seeking the truth in the details.
Each game was developed with UX in mind: timers, interactive elements, and instant feedback.
How Did It Work Technically?
The website was implemented using the stack: HTML/JS/CSS, Java, Vaadin.
Automatic receipt moderation was done via the Federal Tax Service (FTS) API — the system automatically checked uniqueness, purchase date, presence of the promotional product, and Taxpayer Identification Number (INN). If something went wrong, the user received a clear notification without unnecessary bureaucracy.
The admin panel allowed managing content, monitoring receipts, and tracking each new participant. And there were quite a few participants:
- 71,000+ website visits.
- 7,000+ registered users.
- 10,000+ uploaded receipts.
- And, attention: 13,000+ units of product sold.
The Result?
The project was a success. Sales increased, and users were satisfied)
